Containing almost 15 percent vanadium, its unique alloy composition creates an exceptionally high volume of vanadium carbides in its microstructure. In knife blades, this translates to breathtaking cutting performance and edge retention. Spyderco’s limited-edition family of CPM 15V knives is further enhanced by a specialized heat-treating protocol developed by acclaimed custom knifemaker Shawn Houston. This Sprint Run expression of the Native 5 Lightweight faithfully includes all the signature elements of this design, including a high-strength back lock mechanism and a four-position pocket clip. To clearly distinguish it as a member of our CPM 15V family, its FRN handle is injection molded in a distinctive brown color and Shawn Houston’s “Triple B†logo is laser engraved on the reverse side of the full-flat-ground blade.
