Appalachian Origin Mini Axe

Whether for the cosy warm fire in the fireplace at home or the campfire in front of the tent - the practical Boker Plus Appalachian Origin Mini Axe is a compact and versatile axe for camping and domestic use. As with the other models in the series, the axe head is made from 1055 carbon steel in the Rhineland style. The universally designed blade thickness is equally suitable for felling and splitting. The lower tip (heel) of the cutting edge can be used as a turning nose for pieces of wood. The black coating on the blade effectively protects the material from rust. The handle is made from the best long-fibre American ash wood, which is far superior to European ash in terms of resilience and shock resistance. The handle is wedged twice with a wooden wedge and steel sleeve and its short design makes it particularly suitable for longer, effortless work with one hand, as is the case when cutting (kindling) wood for cooking fires. The older name, kitchen axe for axes of this class, comes from the time when hearths in the home were still fired with wood. Leather sheath is available separately.
